I’ve thought a lot about imagery for God and I wanted to paint God as a mother hen protecting her young, as referenced a few times in the Bible. Some things shifted in my perception of God as I painted her. She’s gentle and fierce. She will cradle you with her plush feathers until you drift off to sleep, but if you intend to harm her chicks, she will mess you up!
